Today we get a further sneak-peak inside of Mark Peel’s new supper and cocktail club, The Tar Pit, which we recall was once but a tiny icon on The Point’s website. In a Q&A; with Eater (who appears to agree with our assessment that Peel is “the man of the moment”), Peel says that the space is pushing back its open date to December 14th and will stock Tar Pit’s menu with some of the more classic dishes from his new cookbook. The Tar Pit will be a place for cocktails and food to stop the violence and come together “as mates,” Peel says. To this end his hired guns in the drink department are trying to concoct “the first drinkable cocktail made with Cynar, the artichoke liqueur.” Lastly, Peel reveals he’s just taped a few episodes of a Bravo show’s second season, leading us to surmise that he is joining Susan Feniger and Rick Moonen on the next Top Chef Masters.
