Tangier restaurant in Los Feliz has reopened after almost a year with a new name and concept, reports Eating L.A. via Urban Daddy. To befuddle anyone coming in for either Moroccan or Korean cuisine, the restaurant’s new name is Tangier Korean BBQ of Tokyo. We might have called this “Kept the Old Name to Save on Signage Costs,” as the theme here is radically different from the performance space and Middle Eastern restaurant that it used to be. Now, cook-it-yourself Korean barbecue is available alongside sushi rolls and sake, while colored LED lights and robot statues threaten to induce seizures in your kiddies. A patio is coming in the next few weeks and Urban Daddy tells us this isn’t the necessarily the fanciest place on earth, but a fun hangout that is now practically the neighborhood’s only spot for Korean barbecue. 2138 Hillhurst Ave. Los Feliz. 323-663-2000.
