When Stoddard’s opens its doors in December, customers will be able to get a polish while they drink, thanks to a shoe shine station next to the massive bar. As for what they’ll be drinking, owner William Ashmore tells us that the restaurant will offer five types of cask ale — the most of any bar in New England. Cask ales, of course, don’t keep too long after being opened, so Ashmore is planning a weekly cask-kicking brunch to polish the beers off. Stoddard’s is currently projected to open on December 7.
