Fork in the Road reports that during last night’s meeting of Community Board 3’s licensing committee, the guys from Freemans got the stamp of approval for what they’re calling a “classic American diner” in the old Kelley & Ping space on the Bowery (most recently used for Marco Pierre White’s Chopping Block). There’ll be a 38-foot counter on the first floor and a 19-foot bar on the second. Also given CB3’s initial blessing: Grand Park, the project Jesse Hartman is bringing to the former Isabella’s Oven. The Lo-Down also has coverage of the meeting.
