The Buttercream Cupcake Truck is on the fritz thanks to a nearly fatal combination of non-diesel fuel and a careless tow truck driver, but there’s a new truck launching today that should take some of the sting out of that temporary loss. Hub Bub Coffee is feeding Stumptown beans into its Fetco coffeemakers and handmade Italian espresso machine at the corner of 38th and Spruce in University City.
If you’re not familiar with Stumptown, here’s some background on the Portland-based coffee roaster. The truck will also serve pastries and chocolate chip cookies. Drinks are $1.50 to $4.50, baked goods are $2. The plan is to stick around U. City for now, but that may change once the truck is more established.
