The Hudson Opens Today, Uniting Many a Current Trend

The Hudson opens today with the best local positioning we’ve seen in a while. Its open-air dining room and small bar is smack dab at Santa Monica and Crescent Heights, supposedly in West Hollywood’s old train station, or for all you whippersnappers, where Boulevard Lounge used to be. Trees grow through its floors and a macho Marlowe vibe of dark woods is off-set by light leather booths. A nice spot to rally for a drink and be both outside and safely inside, The Hudson manages to bring a handful of L.A. trends into one small space.

The Hudson is all about burgers, with a handful dominating their small menu. It also manages to honor the mixology trend with its own carefully considered cocktails as well as the speakeasy trend with its modern supper club design. It is also the third New York-named restaurant to hit our streets in as many months, and lest a trend be missed, they have a new-wave mac n’ cheese with roasted jalapenos. Now, all they need is a food truck! Thrillist tells us The Hudson is all about happy hour too, and in addition to a normal afternoon session, from Wednesday to Sunday, they will have late-night drink discounts from 11:00 p.m. to closing. 1114 Crescent Heights Blvd. West Hollywood; (323) 654-6686.
