A couple of weeks ago, the city quietly lost one of its upscale bottle-service lounges with the closure of Azul. But where Azul once stood, it looks like you’ll again be able to overpay for champagne while listening to house music. An owner at Vessel, the sleek “boutique lounge” underneath Niketown, has applied for a liquor license at the old Azul space at 1 Tillman Place. The new project from Philippe Rieser (who got his start opening New York’s Cielo) will be called Belle View Social, and while details are still scarce, Rieser has shown himself to be a fan of luxurious touches. Vessel features a concierge service for your cumbersome shopping bags, and Cielo has bottle service. It’s too early to know just what Rieser has planned for 1 Tillman, but you can bet it will be swank.
