Thyme To Give Ocean Park What It Needs

Thyme Cafe and Market sprang up on Ocean Park today, giving neighbors and S.M.C. students a truly sparkling spread of gourmet cooking products, sandwiches, salads, desserts, and breakfast plates from a tight menu by Marie Byrne of Thyme Catering. The interior is modern country cute, with chalkboard menus, creamy white walls, and a seasonal display of specialized candies. The food, which includes homemade granola, pain du chocolat, black forest ham and brie on caraway bread, a grilled salmon salad, plus brownies and ding dongs, is kept simple, but quite clearly of a pronounced freshness lead by Byrne’s visits to farmer’s markets.

Sandwich prices are similar to, and occasionally cheaper than, nearby Lemonade, falling between seven and nine bucks, with some nicely priced combo specials. Daily Dish lets us know that dinner will eventually be served in Thyme, while we think this length of Ocean Park finally has the grown-up and affordable neighborhood restaurant that it has long awaited. Check out Thyme’s menu on their website.
