Plans for a San Francisco location of Tavern on the Green are most likely off, but still nobody has declared the venture officially dead. The Tavern’s owners never had a solid agreement to lease the Metreon space, and Globe St. reported today that the venture is on hold indefinitely. Meanwhile, the New York restaurant has declared bankruptcy and is going through a tricky ownership change, so the last thing on anybody’s mind there, we bet, is a 3,000-mile expansion. But nobody’s going on record saying the deal is off. It’s like a zombie restaurant venture.
