Recently papered-over West Town bar The Black Beetle has reopened as just plain The Beetle, reports TOC. Now owned by Kitt Swan, a former manager of Northside, the space got a bit of a facelift, and the vibe remains to be seen: “I’m going to let the neighborhood decide what kind of bar it will be,” Swan told TOC. As for grub, an all-under-$9 menu includes delights like The Elvis, a burger topped with bacon, peanut butter, and fried plantains. [TOC]
