Taps Brings Craft Beer and Dogs to Petaluma

Petaluma has no shortage of places for bros to hang out and get wasted, but the newly opened Tap’s, in the former Petaluma Hotel courtyard looks like it could be a step above McNear’s and maybe even Dempsey’s. They’ve got more than 30 beers on tap and a bunch of specialty hot dogs, including a fried-bacon option. Sounds a lot like some recent and anticipated openings in San Francisco, no? According to the Press Democrat, “the spot is still trying to figure out if its a sports bar (flat-screen tvs dominate the wall above the bar along with some good-natured rowdiness on Sunday) or a family restaurant (with plenty of stroller-setters as well).” Seeing as how it’s in Petaluma, you can probably expect fans of both at the same table. What you won’t find, according to early reports, is vegetarian food. Oh well, beer counts as that, right?
