Police are hunting for the Palos Verdes couple who owns Hermosa Beach’s popular Club Sushi and closed its Hollywood outpost in July, reports the Daily Breeze. Gregory and Melissa Alan shut their South Bay restaurant this month, sold off equipment, and have gone missing, not long after being charged by the District Attorney’s Office with forgery and grand theft, following the use of a business partner’s personal information to get fraudulent loans and credit from banks, as well as restaurant equipment and appliance suppliers. Club Sushi has been often praised by media and Mr. Alan has been distinguished repeatedly as a top area business owner. There is currently a warrant issued for the pair’s arrest. The fraud amount, while not yet completely totaled, could be between “hundreds of thousands” of dollars to a possible one million, according to Hermosa Beach police Detective Mick Gaglia.
