Sasha Petraske, the mixologist behind New York cocktail bars Milk & Honey and Little Branch, is working on a bar at the forthcoming W Hotel in the Theater District, says Fork in the Road. Spokesperson Angela Smalley confirms that Petraske, who’s known for meticulously-mixed classic cocktails, is developing the drink list for Descent, a bar on the lower level of the W. The concept will be “master mixology with a nod to the roots of drinking, while still paying homage to the hotel’s modern design,” she says. Petraske is acting as the bar’s creative director, and will likely train the bartenders. This is his third collaboration with W Hotels after Atlanta’s Drink Shop and D.C.’s POV Bar, which serves drinks like Hot Peanut Buttered Rum. Look for Descent to open in late January.
