The Magical Elves (no seriously, that’s the production company’s name) who deliver the televised crack that is Top Chef are even now scouring the country for line cooks, commis, and wide-eyed CDCs to populate the show’s seventh season. (Justin Hall, are you paying attention?)
Prospective cheftestants are required to bring an audition video, as well as a completed application questionnaire — which asks you to do things like “create a dish based on the color yellow,” spill on your most embarrassing moment, list off any odd talents you possess, and — we can’t help noticing — an inquiry as to whether the applicant has a valid passport. Will Season 7 finally take us out of the country?
