Robert Sisca, former executive sous chef at New York’s Le Bernardin, will be the executive chef at Bistro du Midi, the Provençal restaurant slated to open next month across from the Public Garden . Sisca plans to keep the restaurant’s ingredients seasonal and local, a spokesperson said. Look for dishes like deep-fried pumpkin and sage parcels on the all-day bar, dinner, and weekend brunch menus.
Bistro du Midi, a second branch of which will open in London next spring, is a joint venture between the Himmel Hospitality Group, owners of Grill 23 and the brand-new Post 390, and MARC, which runs New York’s A Voce. Opening another Provençal restaurant a mere five blocks away from the very well-regarded Sel De La Terre is a bold move indeed. Do you think it will pan out?
