Where to Go When You Leave Work to Watch the Phillies Game Today

The Phillies play the Rockies today at 2:30 p.m. in the first game of the playoffs. If you don’t have tickets to the home game, you’ll probably be skipping out of work for an “appointment” sometime around 2 p.m., which will likely be with a bar stool. Where should you go?

• Rittenhouse tavern Pub & Kitchen is giving away free hot dogs and Cracker Jacks starting at 2:30 p.m. Supplies are limited, so don’t be mad if you get there late and they’re gone. 1946 Lombard Street; (215) 545-0350

Bridgid’s in Fairmount is serving half-price drafts throughout the game.

McGillins will serve a Phanatic Pheckin Bomb, which involves combining a shot of Apple Pucker, three-quarters of a shot of Feckin Irish Whiskey and then dropping that into three-quarters of a pint of Original Sin Apple Cider. We wouldn’t normally recommend drinking Apple Pucker, but there are exceptions to every rule and another trip to the World Series is one of the exceptions. 1310 Drury St.; (215) 735-5562

• If you’re watching at home, stop by the Kibitz Room before the game and pick up a half-price corned beef sandwich. 1521 Locust St.; (215) 735-7305
