The Bazaar is named “Best New Restaurant of 2009,” by John Mariani in a new article coming out in the next issue of Esquire, says Eating Las Vegas. Mariani calls the restaurant “Jose Andres’ masterpiece” for the chef’s veneration of customary Spanish tapas, as well as his scientific approach in dishes like liquefied mozzarella that exemplify the chef’s “formidable creativity.”

Our heads nodded deeper in agreement when Mariani points to Rivera as Los Angeles’ “Restaurant of the Year”, explaining that Chef Sedlar’s serious approach to Mexican cuisine is also quite fun. RH at Andaz and Westside Tavern also get nods in “Another Fifteen Places You Should Not Miss,” and while there is still a season to go before putting the kibosh on 2009, we think Mariani so far shows a surgeon’s touch in putting his finger on the pulse of L.A.’s fine-dining.
