Equator Books is having a grand-opening party for its new Equator Café, wedged into a corner of the Abbot-Kinney store for easy eats and a much sought-after cup of joe, just three blocks from new coffee darling Intelligentsia. San Francisco’s heavily ballyhooed Blue Bottle Coffee is served at the store, one of L.A.’s few locations brewing the stuff. Blue Bottle is just one of the cult companies offering product through Equator’s new project, as the store’s press release tells us Anisette and Cake Monkey are providing pastries and the tea is coming from The Art of Tea. The grand opening party is taking place from 7 to 11 p.m. next Saturday, November 7th, and James Freeman, Blue Bottle’s roaster, will be on hand to explain why his coffee does what it does to your tastebuds while you sample his brew. 1103 Abbot Kinney, Venice; (310) 399-9282.
