Cameo Bar Lowers The Cost of Drinking at The Viceroy

Half-noir haunt, half-psychedelic polo lounge, we think the Viceroy’s Cameo Bar is a cool set-up. Unfortunately, few people we walk the earth with can afford those double digit drink prices, leaving the space to fill with the sort of nightlife people we’re drinking to forget in the first place. This could change as Cameo Bar rolls out a new happy hour on weekdays. Called “Five to Nine,” drinks and food will hover between five to nine bucks during these hours, while Thursday’s discounts go all night. We’re hoping a cool crowd of post-workers comes to wait out traffic or Bay Cities locals arrive to chase the shiny dress/shirt crew back to Hollywood.

Chefs have shuffled at The Viceroy’s hit-or-miss Whist for years, but now Tony DiSalvo has stepped in from Gramercy Tavern and La Goulue to make it consistent. The new happy hour menu is below. Whatever you do, order Whist’s standout tarragon carrots.
