Cafe con Leche Could Keep Self-Help Graphics in the Chips

Self Help Graphics is known, almost equally, for its commitment in supporting local artists and its constant struggle to stay afloat. It could soon be known for its coffee too, as Brett Schoenhals, owner of Silver Lake’s Coffee Table, is working on plans for Café con Leche, a new café to be installed in the two-story complex, according to The Eastsider.

Schoenhal is looking to take over about 2,000 square-feet at the corner of the building for a kitchen-less café that sells sandwiches, soups, and salads, while doing its own best to showcase artists who work with Self-Help. If all goes to plan, the café will open early next year, and hopefully give Self Help all the assistance it needs to survive another 40 years in East L.A.
