Bloomberg Makes Flavors Illegal

This Cigar Aficionado story is only marginally related to food, but yesterday Bloomie signed a bill into law that will, in 120 days, eliminate the sale of flavored cigars and chewing tobacco in New York City (a federal law already prohibits flavored cigarettes). The move obviously aims to discourage kids from smoking, but come on — if you’ve ever had the tobacco bourbon at Tailor, you know the ’backy is pretty flavorful in and of itself. And does the ban apply to flavors that kids hate? Can’t we adults have our sea-urchin cigars and durian chewing tobacco?
