Your inner wino will be pleased with recent news in grapes by the glass. Bacaro sent us an email excited about what they call “Liquid Crack,” now proudly being served by the glass at their West Adams wine bar. Liquid Crack is really The Black Chook, a sparkling Australian Shiraz made popular at Silver Lake Wine, who then made it even more popular by affixing the name for concentrated street cocaine. This could be what’s driving Bacaro owners Santos Uy and Daniel Kronfli as they create a new Downtown wine bar, the 20-seat Mignon. We suggest paying a visit to Bacaro between five and seven on weekdays, when food is only $5, or on Mondays, when wines by the glass are half-priced all day. Sorry, unlike crack, the first one is not free.
