Not only is it National Grilled Cheese Day today, this whole month also happens to be California Wine Month, as Governor Schwarzenegger announced last week. With little time to prepare, but determined to take advantage of a news hook, Press Club came up with the idea of offering competitive blind tastings. The deal is that if you think you know your California wines you can order the $17 flight of three, which will be poured blind. You write down what you think they are, then submit your answers to win a free private tasting that Press Club values at $50. It’s a modest promotion, sure. No trip to Australia or anything like that. But we doubt we could have done better with so little time. A little notice next time if you please, Guv!
