At long last, the opening of Folklore (2100 W. Divison St, 773 292 1600) is upon us. The Ukranian Village sibling of Southport’s Tango Sur will have a near-identical menu &mdahs; think hearty empanadas and sausages, fresh vegetable salads, a handful of South American sodas, and more than a dozen intensely flavorful cuts of steak grilled over an open flame (with your choice of conventional or organic grass-fed beef). But then there’s the liquid side of things:
The major difference between Folkore and its older sibling happens on the drinking side of things: while Tango Sur is famously BYO, at Folklore you’ll have the option to order from an extensive South American wine selection, plus a full bar equipped to churn out geographically appropriate drinks like mojitos and pisco sours.
