BlackboardEats.com Upgrades Discount Dining

Tired of receiving discounts only from dining establishments like Arby’s and Norm’s? Tomorrow morning could offer some relief with the launch of Venice-based BlackBoardEats.com. The free email newsletter, founded by former Yahoo! Food editor Maggie Nemser, promises weekly discounts from some of L.A.s most popular restaurants, with heavy-duty names like Pizzeria Mozza, Oinkster, Cube, Fig, and Canele being tossed around. Nemser says her staff of professional food writers have credits from Los Angeles Magazine, Bon Appetit, The L.A. Times, and Travel + Leisure, and will strictly choose only the best offers available in town. Deep deals include free bottles of wine, private happy hours, and price cuts of 30% or more, emailed to subscribers with a code that is good for the secret special for a whole month. The site plans expansion to other cities next year. Sign up here, though the site won’t officially launch until morning.
