Petrino: A Kearny Street Institution Since Tuesday

So a new Mediterranean place opened in an old Lee’s Deli space on Kearny Street this week, and while it seems like a perfectly good business lunch option — cheap sandwiches, reasonably priced entrees, wine — the funny think about Petrino is in the text on the website. “Petrino first opened its doors in September 2009.” Yes, that legacy of service and quality sure brings with it the assurance of a good meal. Anyway, if you’re in the neighborhood it may serve for a workday lunch, but according to Meredith Brody’s pop-review yesterday, it’s not really worth traveling for. PDFs of the menus are up on the restaurant’s site, where you can also gaze at some Flash pictures of pasta and racks of lamb. With all that history, they’ve amassed quite a photo album.
