Following up on our post from yesterday, one of the scenes being shot on 20th Street will actually involve Paul Rudd eating at a window table inside Twenty Manning. The restaurant closed for two nights (Wednesday and Thursday) to accommodate production. (As did SnackBar.) It’s a great choice by the location scouts — Twenty Manning has an incredibly picturesque setup. And let it be said that, after the crew was finished beautifying the block, 20th Street never looked so good. Now, this stretch of 20th Street is a great vibrant block on any given day. But the added extra glossy sheen done for the movie makes you realize how much better it could look: flower stalls outside Maxx’s produce; benches on Rittenhouse Street across from D’Angelo’s; new pedestrian scaled street lamps; cafe seating with green planters outside Food & Friends; SnackBar’s outdoor seating primped with special table settings; etc. It looked pretty nice. Maybe, like the Transformers 2 team did, they’ll donate some of the decorative set pieces when they’re finished… Regardless, the movie is schedule to be filming on 20th Street again today/tonight. And, while Twenty Manning and Snackbar will both be closed, Audrey Claire will be open. Don’t you want to know who Paul Rudd is dining with in the scene? Is it Reese Witherspoon?!?
