Reading Terminal has five new merchants with a sixth scheduled to open next month. There’s a new butcher: S&B; Meats, specializing in pork and pork products made by Lancaster County’s Stoltzfus Meats Co. plus German-style meats from Illg’s Meats of Chalfont, Bucks County. A new farmstand: Fair Food Farmstand, selling organic and artisanal foods from small scale local farms, and greenhouse vegetables in the winter. New restaurants: Barb & Suzy’s Kitchen, serving Amish-style sausage sandwiches, batter-dipped veggies and “bacon fries;” and Beck’s Cajun Cafe, coming in October, will be serving Louisiana-style Cajun-Creole cuisine. A new candy stand: Sweet as Fudge Candy Shoppe, selling homemade fudge and nut brittles, fresh roasted peanuts, dried fruits, assorted nuts and candy. And, finally, a new Amish pretzel stand: Miller’s Twist, selling hot pretzels made on site and Kreider’s Ice Cream from Lancaster County.
