And another addition to Chicago’s blossoming cupcake scene enters the fray: The Cupcake Gallery is opening at 1319 W. Wilson, notes Uptown Update. We caught up with owner Darius Williams, who’s excited to be turning his formerly online-only cupcake business into a brick-and-mortar storefront. To mark the occasion, he’s planning on boosting Cupcake Gallery’s existing twenty flavors (bananas foster, Arnold Palmer, red velvet) to a whopping thirty-four, including soda-fountain inspired cupcake renditions of the rootbeer float, orange creamsicle, and creme soda. Cupcakes will run $2.50 each (or $28 for a dozen), and Williams is hoping to have the place open and hopping by Columbus Day weekend.
