Chef Remi Lauvand Guest Chefs at BreadBar’s Hatchi Series

Chef Remi Lauvand, formerly of New York’s fine French mainstays Le Cirque, La Grenouille, and Montrachet, will be the next guest chef at BreadBar’s Hatchi Series in Century City. Lauvand, who was recently cooking in Citrus at Social Hollywood, will express himself on eight different plates, each priced at only eight dollars next Thursday night. The menu is named Endless Summer, but if it were a film, Hiroshima Mon Amour feels more apropos for this marriage of Pacific influences and French staples. Pain D’épices is made with Black Mission figs, crepes are served with pears from the Sierra foothills, and barramundi is flavored with basil jus. More thrilling than Lauvand’s cripsy pork belly salad with jalapeno sauce is news that Top Chef: Season Two runner-up Marcel Vigneron will play hooky from The Bazaar for a night in December for a Hatchi series to call his very own.
