Cafe La Haye Keeps Three Stars; Outerlands Worth the Trek

• Michael Bauer checked in with Sonoma’s Cafe La Haye, where he blessed the restaurant’s ongoing three-star status for the salads, steak, and pan-seared quail. “The food… continues to showcase Sonoma’s best.” [SF Gate]

• Paul Reidinger enjoyed Red Crawfish’s dual identity, but was only moderately impressed by the Cajun side of the menu, even though he had much more to say about it than the pan-Asian side. “Like a folk act following a death-metal group, [the gumbo’s] luster was at first somewhat dimmed by the potency of the seafood combo that preceded it.” [SFBG]

• Meredith Brody trekked to the Outer Sunset to dine at Outerlands, where the kitchen “turns out delicious food for the traveler.” She extols the virtues of the curiously anonymous chef (a veteran of Range and Serpentine — any guesses?), whose food, she says, “goes from strength to strength.” [SF Weekly]
