Pasadena’s Bar Celona will host the country’s biggest Pink Slip Mixer this Monday, turning Labor Day from a day of rest to one of frenzied job-seeking. This event occurs simultaneously in five other cities and invites employers to press the flesh with the jobless, in the hopes that meaningful relationships will blossom between the two. Each participating city (there are three from SoCal) will be linked through live video-feeds as well as projected Twitter messages. Bar Celona welcomes prospective networkers between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Even if no one finds a job, leaving the house, meeting your peers, and downing a strong drink should lift unemployed spirits.
