Sure, speakeasies are passé, but not so for trippy Merida-in-the-sixties-inspired Su Casa, a Sixth Avenue bar-restaurant hidden above Qdoba in the West Village that we first mentioned back in April. The lounge’s official opening is September 10, but you can catch a preview glimpse this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. There are harbingers that the food might be meh: Su Casa shares a kitchen with Qdoba, and David Howell from Suede and Libation and Deena Sayers from Surf Lodge his partner Steve Salis — neither a notable foodie — are behind the place. But at least it has a handsome cocktail list and a faux-Mayan altar.
