Shorts and beer in a darkly louche room is hard to screw up: say hello to Rockwood Place, the latest bar from Eat Well, Drink Better opens this evening in the former home of Central (3466 N Clark St., 773 880 2222). Don’t expect foams and frillery from this menu, though it’s a little swankier than the alleged “dive cuisine” inspiration might indicate: turkey chili, smoked pulled barbecue chicken, a pan-fried shrimp BLT, a design-your-own salad situation, and whole wheat flatbreads. Divey or not, it sops up those cans of PBR that will no doubt be pounded.
