What to Eat at Masa’s Five-Chef Fundraiser

As fund-raising dinners go, the Tasteful Pursuit series benefiting Share Our Strength really casts a wide net. Instead of a huge annual black-tie banquet or something like that, the touring event hits a dozen participating cities one at a time, collecting top local chefs to cook one dinner at one restaurant in town. Next Monday will be San Francisco’s turn, when Masa’s will host Xavier Salomon (Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay), Mark Dommen (One Market), William Werner (Quince), John McKee (Masa’s), and Gregory Short (Masa’s) each taking a course in the fixed menu. All the trappings of a high-end fund-raiser are there, including a reception and silent auction beforehand and likely more neckties than one usually finds in one place in San Francisco. Tickets (which you can buy here) go for $150, and include wine or beer pairings. If you’re curious about what that gets you, exactly, check out the menu below.
