The Starbucks Dress Code: Smart Casual

One could be forgiven for assuming the dress code at Starbucks was Freelancer Chic: college cap, (brim rolled, just in case an alum walks by), Sonic Youth T-shirt, flip-flops, and Daisy Dukes. But at the Starbucks at the Waldorf Astoria, that just won’t cut it. See, the rich don’t want to see that much of the unwashed masses. According to an in-room booklet, the dress code should be “smart casual.” Which means you’ll either look like this guy or these young lovers. Also, don’t even think about wearing your name badges. The last thing the rich want is to know your name.
