A few months ago we plugged the blog of Eddie Lakin, a.k.a. E L of Cooking and Eating in Chicago, as one of the crop of new unemployed-chef blogs that were piquing our interest. Strike that “unemployed” part: Lakin has signed the lease on an Evanston space, and is planning to open a casual joint that’s, in his words, “Hot Doug’s meets Five Guys.” But the blogging bug dies hard: Lakin will be chronicling the process of (almost singlehandedly) opening Edzo’s Burger Shop, as the place will be called, at his other site, Chicagomatic.
