The easterly outpost of Mission stalwart Sunflower Restaurant opened over the weekend to initially positive reaction from the likes of Yelp. This has been a great year for mid-priced openings in Potrero Hill. There was a time when lunch-seeking workers in the neighborhood were basically captives of JB’s Place, Connecticut Yankee, Eliza’s, or Goat Hill Pizza. This year saw the opening of Pizzanostra, Horatius, and Kitchenette, and now Sunflower has taken over the old Baraka space at 288 Connecticut St. The menu is the same as the Mission location’s and includes those great lunch specials, so you can add pho, bun, and imperial rolls to your list of neighborhood cravings.
