“Michael Voltaggio is a bad-ass! Just so, so, so, so talented,” previous Top Chef winner Hung Huynh told us about his former co-worker who we grilled yesterday. “The guy is younger than me, and I worked under him,” Huynh said. The two worked at the Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida. “He is kind of quiet, and quite serious about food. He knows how to have fun too, but takes food so seriously.” The spikey haired, well-inked Voltaggio also worked with another Top Chef alum, Marcel Vigneron, while at Bazaar. Vigneron was unavailable for comment, but Huynh was typically colorful in his descriptions of Voltaggio. “Michael is a prick, but in a good way, like myself,” he said. “He is so hardcore. He is one of the most talented people I know. He will be the winner for sure!” Voltaggio will be competing this season against his older brother Bryan, who hopefully has as strong a supporter as Huynh in his corner.
