Nom Nom Truck will officially debut its street-side banh mi sandwiches tonight at the bulls-eye of the new wave of food trucks, The Brig on Abbott Kinney. Since last Thursday, Nom Nom has been like Bigfoot, with sightings and rumors floating around, but no confirmed evidence. This truck has been fueled by major hype, perhaps marking a return to the experimental Asian fusion that started the driving trend. As good Vietnamese food is spread out rather distantly around here, a truck focused on a few simple aspects of the cuisine have the town hopeful it will be convenient and well-executed. It’s encouraging to find the Nom-meisters are charging no more than $5 a sandwich, plus they have a lemongrass chicken taco sure to inspire some debate.
