Max Shuttering in Sherman Oaks to Make Room for Marche

A new restaurant named Marche will soon open after the closing of Andre Guerrero’s Max in Sherman Oaks this Sunday. Guerrero will stay involved as a partner, but is closing the seven-year old restaurant to concentrate on his Boho and The Oinkster, reports SGV Tribune. Gary Menes, head chef at sublime Palate Food + Wine, is stepping into the kitchen as Exec Chef, giving him a well-deserved showcase restaurant of his own. “It sounded like a great opportunity for both of us (Gary has been trying to get his own restaurant for a while). I am taking more of a backseat approach, although I will still have some influence and input,” says Guerrero. Menes and Guerrero plan to have locally-sourced, French influenced eating options with all dishes priced under twenty bucks. Palate’s success and vast respect has Angelenos driving from various parts of the city to grab a nosh, we can only imagine the response in Sherman Oaks will be similar.
