Meat and Martinis: Bourdain Does San Francisco

In your obligatory No Reservations mention for the day (and then we’re done with this for a while), let’s just take a quick look at where Bourdain stopped and what he ate on last night’s episode: A bacon latte at Pirate Cat Cafe (this part never did make sense to us), a Hangtown fry and a martini at Tadich Grill, a martini at Zam Zam, Prime Rib (and a martini) at the House of Prime Rib, tacos from the Sinaloa truck on Oakland’s International Boulevard, sushi at Sebo, tortas and Tecate at That’s It (only we’re pretty sure they don’t actually let you drink in there, or maybe things have changed since our late-night beer-runs of old), fried crab and martinis at R & G Lounge, offal at Incanto, and a burger at Red’s Java House. Not a bad itinerary, though the burrito cheerleader in us feels a little left out. It’s on record that Big B also showed up at Bender’s, St. George Spirits (to taste foie gras vodka!), and Swan Oyster Depot, but those bits didn’t make the show. And there you have it, folks. The end of Bourdain’s latest Bay Area saga. Will he blow up your favorite spot next time? Only his producers can tell.
