Kurt Niklas, owner of past industry-heavy restaurants The Bistro and Bistro Garden in Beverly Hills, has died at age 83. Niklas started his own restaurant at the suggestion of director Billy Wilder, among others, and earned the praise of Ruth Reichel. [L.A. Times Obituaries]
