Allen & Delancey and its upstate sister restaurant Monteverde have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in a move that an insider tells Eater is merely a “restructuring.” According to documents, debts include $15,000 owed to its landlord, $350,000 to the IRS, $210,000 to the state of New York, and still more money owed to food vendors. News that the restaurant is struggling is hardly a surprise — here’s hoping new chef Ryan Skeen can turn things around.
