Cupcake mania will hit Beacon Hill soon with the opening of Isabella’s Cupcakes, a Todd English venture which hopes to sign a lease on the old Ritz Camera store at 81 Charles Street. Though the shop is not, as the Boston Real Estate Blog originally reported, owned by Todd English’s daughter, a source close to the project tells us that sixteen year old Isabelle is apprenticing on the project, accompanying her dad to meetings with contractors and realtors, giving feedback on the menu, and generally taking a leadership role. Not a bad summer job! Nothing has been signed yet, but Beacon Hill residents can unofficially start getting excited for the first cupcake replacement since The Spotted Apron closed last year.
Update: The working name of the shop is, in fact, Curly Cupcakes, in tribute to Isabelle’s curly hair. Aw!
