You may have heard a thing or two about this beer summit at the White House. Here in Philly, you may also have heard that we like beer. Craft beer, local beer, microbrews, whatever you want to call it, we are America’s Best Beer-Drinking City, we have a Keg Hammer of Glory and we’re not afraid to use it. We also have a number of beer opiniators/writers/bloggers who are never short of commentary. What did they have to say about the lack of palatable brews at the White House meeting?
Daily News beer reporter Don Russell, a.k.a. Joe Sixpack:
“Let’s just take a sec to thank the heavens we have a president who thinks it’s a good idea to settle differences over a beer.” [Beer Radar]
Beer writer Jack Curtin:
“Bud Light!? Bud Freakin’ Light?” [Liquid Diet]
Beer and spirits writer Lew Bryson:
“It doesn’t matter what beer it is: it’s beer. Beer is at the White House. Again. That should have been enough. Crying that it’s not your beer, or the right beer, or an American beer is silly.” [Seen Through a Glass]
