Tequila has come a long way since we thought Cuervo was the good stuff. Now, there are so many multi-colored bottles and upscale names pushing agave juice that we just close our eyes, spin around the room, and point when shots are called for.
Come time to discern our fine sipping tequilas, however, and we turn to Ortega 120, named numerically for the bottles of tequilas on hand at this Redondo Beach Mexican folk-art restaurant.
On select Tuesdays, Ortega’s owner Demi offers a flight of a specific tequila, along with Mexican appetizers like short rib tacos and lessons on the chosen vintage, plus drink making lessons and a tequila tasting journal for only $20.
