Maxim’s 2009 Food Awards

Maxim, a magazine generally known for featuring meat of the non-barbecuable kind, has devoted some of its August issue to their 2009 Food Awards. It’s divided into ersatz categories like “sexiest sandwich named after a dude” (the Reuben at San Francisco’s Spruce) or “seven tastiest sins” (the multi-course tasting menu at Chicago’s Spiaggia, which “amortized over seven courses is only $31 per bite”). Celeb chefs weigh in on their favorites: Bourdain loves Masa; Achatz loves Schwa; and Scott Conant raves about Brooklyn’s Ferdinando’s Focacceria . It’s not online, so you’ll have to pick up a copy in order to “die a happier, slightly fatter man.”
