Hearing Looks Good for South Street Diner

The Boston Licensing Board won’t vote on the fate of 24 hour service at South Street Diner until tomorrow, but Universal Hub has details on this morning’s hearing, and things look positive for the restaurant. Though board chairman Daniel Pokaski expressed concern that noise from the diner could be preventing neighborhood residents from sleeping, many locals came out in support of the diner, as did the offices of the mayor and City Councilor Stephen Murphy. Furthermore, the Boston Licensing Board has proved mighty reluctant to yank licenses in the past - it seems doubtful they’d turn over a new leaf with such a beloved institution.
