DBGB’s Logo Raises Eyebrows Again

Color us skeptical, but Al Shaw, associate editor of Talking Points Memo, wants to know: “Did celebrity chef Daniel Boulud ‘borrow’ identity for new Bowery restaurant from local chicago blog? My forensic study: ’http://bit.ly/590pc.’” It’s a bit of a stretch, but amusing to contemplate in light of the issue CBGB had with a preliminary DBGB logo, as well as the whole Daniel Boulud–versus–Danny Brown fracas that’s mentioned in our history of restaurant rip-off lawsuits.
Update! Gaper’s Block editor tells Grub Street Chicago: “A restaurant in New York isn’t going to harm the business of a website in Chicago because it used the same font in its logo.”
